Wesley Centre
The construction team then moved onto the back of the site where the lounge & office were demolished. The toilet block has been kept. The old foot print has been squared up. This has allowed for a kitchen to go in from the old glass coverway, out to the main carpark. Access from the car park is a ramp, no more steep steps.
On the side facing Clive Square, this too has been squared up with a second lounge facing Clive Square and step access from this side. The old flower room, hallway & office have switched about and now include an office, accessible bathroom and a wider welcoming hallway.
December - Christmas has come early, we are in!! 6th December saw the congregation shift into the new lounges for a small blessing after communion. Morning tea was served from our new kitchen. It is much brighter and I'm sure our community groups will enjoy the new modern space.
The photo's below are pre construction and during construction time. No after photo's have been uploaded
- come and see for yourself.
Our new lounges & kitchen area is now known as the Wesley Centre.

We are now on the exterior jobs. All of the rotten weather board has been removed and replaced with the weatherboard recycled from the old lounge and the painting is continuing. The southern side of the church roof is being replaced - not bad for over 50yrs old (& it didn't leak).
Thank you to the Team at Alexanders Construction who have worked hard amidst Covid & the weather to bring our new building into reality.
